Ramblings of a Patriot

The violent mindset of some Palestinians is such a tragedy. And they wonder why foreign aid has been cut, and why the international community does not side with them. Recent events just show the world yet again that some Palestinians can't even get along with their own brothers, and resort to execution style murders. And 3 of them were children on their way to school! If they can't even get along with each other, how on earth will they ever get along with Israel?? There is now talk about a possibility of civil war between Fatah and Hamas. This just seems ridiculous to me. Peace appears to be SOOOOOO far away in this region of the world. (sigh)

Ramblings of a Patriot

I got a great email and had to share......

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into awell. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get outof the deepest wells just by not stopping, and never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!!

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1.) Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2.) Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

3.) Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4.) Give more.

5.) Expect less.

NOW ............Enough of that crap .... The donkey later came back, and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him. The gash from the bite got infected and the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON: When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always comes back to bite you.

Ramblings of a Patriot

December 7th 2006......

Well it was 65 years ago today that America was attacked at Pearl Harbor. "A day which will live in infamy." I would like to take a moment to honor those brave men and women who lost their lives on that notorious day. A day that sparked a series of events that changed the face of the earth forever. Both of my grandfathers fought in WWII, and I will never forget their sacrifices and their love for the United States of America. They were true patriots. One of my grandfathers was stationed on the German front in an Army tank battalion, and the other was a nose gunner in the Air Force in the Pacific theatre. May God keep them well in Heaven. They were two guys who just wanted the best for their families, to live in freedom, and fought for this principle. Words can not begin to express the emotions that I feel for their heroic deeds. My only hope is that their efforts were not in vain. I pray that the world today can someday see that wars are avoidable. Diplomacy can work, but only when each side (of any conflict) actually LISTENS to the other, and we resist the temptation to pass blanket judgements upon people who see things differently that we do.

Ramblings of a Patriot

Part II ~ From Obsession.....

This part is in regards to the teachings of children in some Islamic countries. These are quotes. I am not editorializing.

Quote from Nonie Darwish daughter of Shahid (Martyr) no date was supplied

"We were taught that Jihad is a religious holy war for the sake of Allah, to Conquer the world for Allah"

From Palestinian TV:

Sheikh Ibrahim Madhi said:
"We must educate our children on the love of Jihad for the sake of Allah. And the love of fighting for the sake of Allah."

Also from Palestinian TV:

8 yr. old girl said:
"Lend your hands to justice and to Jihad"

Again from Palestinian TV:

7 yr. old girl said: (obviously shaken, and sobbing)
"But I march quickly towards my death in Jihad for the sake of Allah"

School books from Palestine and Jordan:
"This religion Islam will destroy all other religions through the Islamic Jihad fighters"

Interview from Iqraa TV in Saudi Arabia May, 2002:

Interviewer: "What's your name?"

Girl: "Basmallah"

Int.: "How old are you?"

Girl: "3 1/2"

Int.: "Are you a Muslim?"

Girl: "Yes"

Int.: "Are you familiar with the Jews?"

Girl: "Yes"

Int.: "Do you like them?"

Girl: "No."

Int.: "Why don't you like them?"

Girl: "Because"

Int.: "Why"

Girl: "Because they are apes and pigs"

Int.: "Because they are apes and pigs? Who said so?"

Girl: "Our God"

Int.: "Where did he say this?"

Girl: "In the Koran"

Int.: "Right! He said that about them in the Koran"

O.K. ~ these examples really make my stomach turn. It is one thing for adults to exhibit hatred and bigotry, but when it is obviously ingrained into a child's mind from birth, it is no wonder some Muslims have so much blind hatred. I worked with a couple brothers from Jordan a few years back. I really got along well with them. One of the brothers in particular had a great sense of humor. I decided to play a little joke on him one day after I heard him make a derogatory comment about a Jewish guy who also worked in our same office. I told him that I was a Jew too. He went crazy! It sent his head spinning, how could this guy who he thought was his friend be Jewish?!? I could tell by his demeanor that this was going to escalate quickly, so I told him that I was only kidding and to lighten up. He kinda laughed it off, and we continued to be friends, but I would sometimes question why he hated Jews. Every time he would reply, "Because they are swine!"

I truly hope that these are isolated incidents, but I have to wonder. But I'm sure Palo-girl will set me straight. Well, it's round 2...LOL

PART 1 of this story.......

OK, I just watched a program on Fox News, and it was VERY disturbing to me. I truely believe that this threat could be the end of the world as we (the American people) know it.

Here are some talking points:

First and foremost....a quote from the author of this program........"This was a film about radical islamic terror, a dangerous ideology fueled by religious hatred. It's important to remember that MOST muslims are peaceful & do NOT support terror. This story is NOT about them. This is a film about a radical worldview, and the threat it poses to us all, muslim, and non-muslim alike........

here we go....

a nice quote from hassan nasrallah....... Al Manar TV...2005

The most honorable death is by killing. And the most honorable killing & the glorious martydom is when a man is killed for the sake of Allah.

another nice quote from a Hamas website (12-05):

mr. Raed Said Hussien Saad from Palestinia TV said:

"We succeeded with Allah's grace, to raise an ideological generation that loves death like our enemy loves life.

They have also stated by some "muslim experts" that there are well over a billion muslims in the world today, but that ONLY 10 to 15% were "radical" islam.....well as a numbers guy...that is well over 10 million muslims that want nothing else but my countries desctruction. i am sorry, but that is un-acceptable to me!!

In addition, i have seen many HORRIFIC displays of children being taught this hatred!!!! That more than anything just sets my blood boiling!!!! My God, let people judge for themselves how they want to choose their faith. It is so SICK and PERVERTED to brain wash children into this sick cycle of hate!!!!!!!!!!

Palo...please save me from this rant, because i have only used less than half of the information that i have at my disposal.

I would like to discuss immigration for a minute. While watching the World Series last night, I was floored when Chevy had not one, not two, but three commercials all in SPANISH! What the hell was that all about????????? The last time I checked, we typically speak in english in these here United States. Was our constitution written in multiple languages?!?!?! America was built on immigrants from all countries which I believe has made this country great. But exactly when did we get to the point where we have to advertise (on national TV) in other languages to sell anything??? I know that I will never buy a Chevy product for the rest of my life. What will it take to get our LAZY, CORRUPTED, and many times CRIMINAL government to get a handle on our borders???? This is such an outrage. But of course I didn't hear ANYTHING about it on the MSM, as I am sure it is too politically incorrect.

Well, the first post. I have finally decided to take the plunge (with some encouragement :) into blog-land. Here is what I hope for this blog:

1.) A place where true debate and rational (and sometimes un-rational) thought can be expressed freely. If anyone gets offended, I apologize up front.

2.) A place to vent my frustration at the current state of affairs locally and abroad.

3.) A place where anyone can contribute, as I plan on bringing up several hot button topics. I welcome and even encourage views other than my own. It is only through understanding that common ground can be found.

4.) Comments will never be moderated on this blog.....ever, but please try to keep in mind other's feelings.

Let the fun begin.......

The first topic that I would like to discuss is abortion. I have some very strong feelings in regards to this issue. It is my opinion that when roe v wade happened, the moral fiber of America deteriorated as a result. I believe that every human being should have the right to life. I know a couple of women who have "legally" aborted thier pregnancies, and it really has scared them for life. The amount of guilt they hold must be tremendous. As a father, I just can't imagine a situation where ending a life before it has begun is an "option". I understand that I will probably get some nasty responses from this post, but we (as a society) really need to start discussing this topic, and I welcome all comments.
